Activate external disks
External storage can be attached to a storage system.
About this task
You can activate an external disk that is in one of the following states: drained, draining, or disabled.
Steps
To activate an external disk:
- Select the storage system.
- Select .

Select the SRP and click
to view its details.
- Click the number next to Disk Groups.

Select an external disk group and click
to view its details.

Select the external disk that you want to activate, click
, and click
Activate.

Do one of the following:
- Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
- Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
